Josep Guinovart i Bertran. (Barcelona 1927–2007) painter, cartoonist and engraver

After carrying out its studies in the school Llotja and in the Promotion of Decorative Arts of Barcelona, he gained a grant in the year 1953 of the French Institute to carry out a journey to Paris in five months.

To its turn to Barcelona and after a season working in illustrations and scenographic decors, towards the year 1957 it initiated a decantation towards the abstract art, its off-center work, uses three-dimensional elements almost constantly in its works, the also big format majority.

In the year 1994 a Museum in Agramunt dedicated to its work, population in which its mother had been born and that he has always been linked, was inaugurated.

1990- National Prize of Fine Arts of the Department of Culture of the Generality of Catalonia.


2003- The town council of Agramunt names it adopted child.
